It is critical for students to see that churches are not "competing for their business." We are all working to grow the Kingdom of God and what better way than to pool all of the resources--financial, spiritual gifts and otherwise to create an event that spans denominations and reaches more students than any one church ministry could.

Several churches in our area are realizing the benefit to this somewhat new train of thought and are taking advantage of it, and we are having great success with it. When the Body of Christ comes together and works together, it can most certainly do great things!

Right on, Tom! This is exactly what we've been doing in Charlottesville (praise God) this year; several of us meet together for breakfast every other month or so (we're hoping to meet more often) to catch up and get to know each other better. We have youth pastors from a couple of Presbyterian churches, an Episcopal church, a Catholic church, and Baptist church, Young Life, and another outreach organiztion to poorer neighborhoods here. Getting to share with those guys has been one of the biggest blessings of this year. And now, several of us have teamed up and are planning on putting on a Senior Seminar evening (5 Things We Wish We Knew Before Coming to College). It is beautiful when the Lord shows us that His Kingdom is SO much bigger than denominations!
